Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, an artist originally from Mexico who now works in Canada, is the subject of a show at Montréal’s MAC, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. The centrepiece of the show, Vicious Circular Breathing, uses bellows produced by Dynatect to inflate and deflate brown paper bags with the breath of visitors who have entered a small glass room.
The artist’s team contacted us a few years back as they were looking for bellows that would both function for the hundreds of thousands of cycles the piece will see and that would meet the artist’s aesthetic requirements. Working with them we were able to design bellows that met those two needs.
The show, Présence instable, is at MAC until September 9th 2018.
